After a nearly a year of waiting, we made it back to the beach in beautiful Destin, Florida! In fact, I am intently listening to the crashing of the waves as I compose this post. Most of Lisa’s family is here. Lisa’s mom rented an awesome condo that is loaded and is beach-front, baby! As always, though, the road trip is part of the fun. Many fabulously fond family memories are forged during our forays. (How’s that for alliteration?!) Yes, stopping a hundred times for someone to use the bathroom adds to the comedy, especially when it drives the teenager crazy. Hey, I aim to please. For breakfast, we ate a quick chicken biscuit from McDonald’s and lunch was delectable hot-dogs from Jimmie’s in Albany, GA. Oh, yeah…we based our travels to snag some. When we arrived, the kids played in the gulf while Lisa and I shopped at Publix for some weekly groceries. PSSST, we were even so mean as to buy the teenager a summer reading book from Barnes and Noble. He can catch up during the evenings. I plan on an early morning run on the beach as there is nothing like it. I’m sure there will be lots of God sightings.
Question of the Day: Where is your go-to place for complete relaxation?
